Chinese Embassy Donates Equipment to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uganda

On 21st May 2015, H.E. Zhao Yali, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Uganda handed over a 14-seater-van made in China and two Chinese screens to Hon. Oryem Henry Okello, the Ag. Minister of Foreign affairs to assist in building the Ministry’s capacity. The handover ceremony was held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Minister thanked the Ambassador for the donation from China and underscored the excellent bilateral relations existing between the two countries. He further stated that the recent visit of H.E. the President of Uganda to China was very successful, which pushed the bilateral relationship between the two countries to a new high.

The Minister also expressed his gratitude to the Chinese Government for the assistance and support in the field of infrastructure and capacity building.

H.E. Ambassador Zhao noted that the recent visit of H.E the President of Uganda to China was a historical moment after more than ten years when the President last made a state visit to China. China and Uganda are good partners, good friends and good brothers. China will continue to provide sincere assistance to Uganda and Africa with no strings attached. He further emphasized that China will continue to develop bilateral relations on the basis of mutual respect and mutual benefit.
